I have some pipes that run through a part of my house that is unfinished, isolated, and unheated in the winter. Do they sell anything that I could wrap around the pipes that will warm them just enough to keep them from freezing? Like some kind of coil or something. Just looking for ideas. Thanks.

You can get pipe insulating tubes made out of a kind of foam rubber at home improvement stores. Each piece is about 3 feet long and they're split down one side, so you can cut them to the desired lengths and just slip them around the pipes. They also come in different sizes for different pipe diameters. I would recommend that you use duct tape to wrap around the insulation in key places to secure it to the pipes.

Also, if you leave water running - even just a trickle - the movement of the water helps prevent pipes from freezing.

If there is moisture interior the line then confident your gasoline meter and or piping can easily freeze. Older gasoline strains by using the northeastern US journey this subject particularly regularly. The organic gasoline itself won't freeze nor will the piping that contains it yet whilst there's a leak everywhere that moisture can get into the line then that moisture would be carried by using the piping equipment, carry mutually, and freeze in severe wintry climate climate.

Use insulating tape or molded pipe sleeve and wrap it over the entire length of exposed pipe. Cover all valves, pipe-fittings, etc. with insulating tape or fiberglass. (Check your hardware store for supplies.)

They also make a thermostat the heat tape plugs into so tape isn't on all the time. Only when temp gets below a certain temp does the heat tape comes on. saves allot on electric bill
