Not for the royalties but just for the "F#ck, I wish I'd written that" factor!

Mine is round and round by New order.

Just about anything by The Beatles or Bob Dylan but if I had to pick just one it would have to be "Hey Jude" because it' just such a perfect song with a great tune, great chord sequence, great lyrics and the bit at the end that everybody loves to sing along with.

Mine's gotta be anything by MC Hawking.

An absolutely awesome gimmick. Using a computerized speech-synthesis machine to perfrom "gangsta rap" as if the brilliant scientist Stephen Hawking was doing it.
MP3 Samples at the link above.

A sample line:
"Look I ain't Thomas Dolby, science doesn't blind me.
Think you're smart? Form a line behind me."

Another:
"I explode like a bomb, no one is spared,
my power is my mass times the speed of light squared.
There's no escaping here, I'm gonna beat you out of shape,
like a f**king black hole even light can't escape."

"A Brief History of Rhyme" - I'm LOL right now.
Damn, I wish I'd thought of this!!!

There's not really any song that I wish I'd written... I'm just really proud of the ones I actually did write (with a little help from my piano/vocal teacher). ^.^

the people that said 'everlong' by the foo fighters are right, that is an AMAZING song but mine would be 'Sappy' by Nirvana. Not many people have heard of it, but the lyrics are brilliant and tune is fantastic and its a really simple song too.
