I am hoping those are the ones who don't vote!

2007-10-31 09:04:50 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 2 2

What does this question even mean?!?!

Am I voting SOLELY to have government regulate private lives?

I don't think there is a ballot box for that first of all, or No one would vote for it.

Secondly I am a single male. The government can't regulate abortion for me or a relationship I am not in.

Third there is so much more than those two subjects that I don't want the government to regulate, why begin or end even with those two very specific and non inclusive subjects? What about our failing education system, diminishing funding for the arts, un-Constitutional taxing, the debacle of Social Security, obtuse social medicine ideas. While ideologically you might bring up some important issues, you miss the mark since the issues I mentioned trump the importance of your issues as they impact ALL of us and not just segments of the community.

So to answer your question, no, I am not voting solely on one or two social issues. To do so would be myopic and foolish.

I do not believe government should regulate private lives. While policies may influence personal choices, the decision is always the province of the person making such decisions. Abortion and homosexualism are moral issues. Morality, on the other hand, is not cast in stone but stands on shifting sands. Much of the suasion for or against either of the two you mentioned is principally a function best performed by those charged with our spiritual guidance.

While they aren't my deciding factors in who I vote for, I would prefer a candidate who WILL stop trying to regulate peoples lives. Stay out of the Homosexuals life, give them equal rights to everyone else so we can stop spending millions of dollars debating the issue. All Americans should have ALL of the same rights. Period. And while I don't like abortion, its a woman's right to choose. I feel that if the government changes that, it will open the door to the regulation over a woman's body all together.

Lets take the government out of our private lives.

Maybe not solely but majorly because of that... And who said abortion and homosexualism are private lives affairs? Rethink that! Abortion affects at least 3 people, homosexualism affects a whole nation! Now they're telling us what to teach them in school about such crap! And they want to make it 'private' so that parents can't even decide for their kids!!! What the heck!!!

I always vote my morals and yes they are Biblical and not relativistic. The Pious Relativists are the leaders of the New Inquisition. You can tell them apart from the crowd because as soon as someone differs from their political correctness they scream, Racist, Bigot, Fascist. It's a scream to watch these people that are so ate up. It's like pulling the string on those old talking dolls.

The government should have no say in those things. Those are our rights as human beings. If we are able to regulate homosexuality then heterosexuality should have to be regulated as well. It's only fair. Personally I don't want some guy I don't even know deciding for me if I do or don't keep my baby. That's a personal choice.

Heavens no what someone does in their life is no ones business but their own. Who are we to say what is right or wrong? If a women was raped would she want to ever look at that baby? no! It would kill the mother inside to be forced to take care of a baby that she would not love. Especially so if the child looked like her rapist! As for "homosexualism" (is that a word?) the person was born that way all their is to it. Can you deny someones happy-ness even if it is with someone of the same gender. Does it affect you in anyway shape or form? No! Who are we to say that "no you can't be happy" because I believe in that even if you do? To say two men/women can not marry is like saying two Chinese people can not get married or two Irish. Does that make sense? No! In its own form its as bad a racism because people are prejudging them because they are happiest living with someone of the same gender or because they don't feel they can take care of a child.

It is a loaded question. Who would do that? But if you think abortion is murder, why would you vote for someone who believes in it? I don't soley vote on that issue, but as of now, widespread killing is of innocent people is the highest priority when I go to the voting poll.

I think the government should stay out of peoples private lives.

People that are anti-gay and anti-abortion should just create a cult and live together. There's no way to stop people from being gay or from having abortions. Why? It's there friggin' personal choice. When has government ever stopped EVERY person from doing wrong? NEVER. They might stop a few, but those bound and determined WILL succeed.
