Ethiopians have distinct features which ignorant whites label as "white features" Ethiopians are the oldest Africans and it's a KNOWN FACT that human life started in Africa more specifically in Ethiopia. A lot of people like to say that Ethiopians got their keen features from the white race NO it's the other way around! If though Ethiopians actually have LIPS and whites don't.

Even though scientist do say that Ethiopians are widely considered black both historically and by the census, a 2001 Oxford genetic cluster study state that 62% of the Ethiopians fall in the first cluster which encompasses the majority of Jews, Norwegians and Armenians, indicating that placement of these individuals in a black cluster would be an inaccurate reflection of the genetic structure. Only 24% of the Ethiopians are placed in the cluster with the Bantu and most of the Afro-Caribbeans. Some anthropologists have argued that their craniofacial features resemble those of Caucasians their alleged genetic and physical resemblance to both blacks and whites can only be partly explained by the long history of admixture between Ethiopians and the Near East.
Scientists believe that modern humans originated in Africa, and that all non-Africans carry a later mutation that occurred in what is today known as Ethiopia. Anyway, caucasians vary in color just like all the other races ranging from very fair to brown.
People seem to think that the continents were always this way. There use to be one huge land mass, then it became two supercontinents -Godwana and Laurasia before it became what it is today. Just because they found Lucy in what is now known as Ethiopia. It was not known as Ethiopia during her lifetime.
Just because they found Lucy in Ethiopia does not mean she was black. Actually Ethiopia was comprised of Arabs in the northern region and many Africans of other countries were slaves to the Ethiopians. Ethiopians use to have slaves who had one specific job like holding there master's gun. Anyway, the slave trade in the Arab and African countries treated their slave like family not like they did in America. So many of these Ethiopians are from other parts of the continent.

Wow, the girl in that photo looks like a black version of my sister! Weird. I'm not sure where you got the idea that Ethiopia specifically is where human life started: we learnt in archaeology that it was definitely in Africa, but since they keep discovering older remains in different places, they can't say which region it was. In South Africa where I live, they also sell that whole 'cradle of humankind' bit to the tourists.
I'm glad you're happy with the way you look, because it's stupid for everyone to want to look the same. And the people in those pictures WERE beautiful. But I think it's also stupid to assume that the wide spectrum of human appearance can be fitted into neat little binary boxes of 'black', 'white', 'asian' and so on. There's nothing inherent about which features we chose as important to distinguish, and where we drew the dividing lines between them. I take these photos as evidence for that, rather than for some universal declaration about what it means to be 'black'.
PS: to further disprove the idea that there's something inherent about the way we are categorised, I'm white but I've got lips and *** and a full singing voice.

im sorry but all those pictures just look like they are black people to me.
i dont know what you mean by white features
whites developed in europe, seperatly from blacks in africa, thus are quite different in appearance. whites did not magically get features from a country in east africa. if you think they look similar, they probably evolved similar features. la de da.
who cares?

To red88....I agree with you....... ethiopians are of the ******* race.........and white people are always saying those things like........always trying to separate black people from one another...........white people need to get over themselves.........and some black americans need to get a bit more education on the diversity that is black people
P.S. I have friends from all over africa(rwanda, burundi, kenya, etiopia, somalia, the congo etc).........they are beautiful, straight noses, nice lips......beautiful women........

i mean i'm black and i'm not Ethiopian but i have features like these people. my nose is like that and my lips are really thin. and i don't have any white ancestors. my family is of African descent and Native American. i don't think thin lips or narrow noses are confined to one race so i don't think u can always get a certain feature from ancestors that are of a different race. black people are not going to always have big lips/wide noses and white people are not always going to have thin lips/narrow noses.
