Do what I do go with your dad around the neighborhood and maybe another street, then go with your friends. I also think that you should tell him how you feel (nothing to extreme though like "dad I love you but you embarrass me and I want to go with my friends not you" that would crush him). You could also ask him if he would like for just the two of you to do something together.
~best of luck,

I am also 13 and I understand how it feels to not want to be with your dad all the time. I think you should tell him he can come with you and your friends for like a half hour and then ask if you and your friends could go alone for the rest of the time. You can also ask him if the two of you can hang out some time this week or over the weekend....maybe see a movie or go out to eat. Good luck!! Happy Halloween!!!!!!

Your dad is looking out for you is all. There is alot of not so wonderful things that sadly go on Halloween :( First thing first I think you need to talk to your Dad calmly and express how you would love to go out with him & your friends, and that you do not want to let down any of them and ask what he thinks you could do or should do. It may mean that your dad takes a shift and you make a commitment to stay in a certain area and nothing more if he lets you go out alone.
Be calm, and share your feelings honestly and ask your Dad for his opinion on how to keep everyone happy :) and not feel embarred as sometimes kids do .As a mom of teens, I would be receptive to that. Relationships are based on compromise- in the middle of what each of you wants. Peace, Ame

You are too old to go trick or treating. Stay at home with your dad and maybe a friend, rent some movies and have shacks and enjoy your dad while you have him.

Certainly don't let your dad down this year, he's lookin forward to it. Ask your friends if they want to come along with you and your pops for a little then you could drop dad off at home and tell him you're going w/ your friends for a little. Don't be mean this could seriously crush him.

honestly, i am the same age, and i am going with my dad. i didn't get asked to go with anyone, but i would have stayed with my dad because my dad will always be there. friends might just move on. your dad will always be there to make you laugh, wipe your tears when you cry, and love you forever. i say you should go with your dad.
