For our art at school we have to take some lyrics and draw them as what they mean and stuff. Thing is I dont know which lyrics to use, can anyone think of some up to date, meaningful, well known lyrics that would be easy for me to draw. And also think of good idea's on how to draw them? Thanks in advance. And im not asking you to do it all I just need idea's and I will adapt them into my own

"Across the Universe" by the Beatles.

You could do all kinds of trippy space stuff like planets and shooting stars and spac ships.

Angel of Mine by Evanescence. Sorry, that came to mind first. It's been stuck in my head ALL day. Just google for the lyrics. It's pretty obvious. :)

If you want mainstream, try the Great Escape by Boys Like Girls. You could draw them... Being free from stress and stuff.

Just stick with love songs. For mainstream, pick Hey There Delilah. I like Swing Life Away, You (by Evanescence), any Vanessa Carlton songs, I Won't Say I'm In Love (from the movie Hercules), Anywhere (Evanescence), Sally's Song (the movie Nightmare Before Christmas), Once Upon a Dream (from Sleeping Beauty)...Yeah. Another mainstream song is Hate That I Love You by Ne-Yo and Rihanna.

I hope I helped you. The best thing is just to pick your favorite song or a song from your favorite band.

How about - You're Beautiful by David Blunt?
Type the song title into Google for song lyrics and read them through to give you an idea. Whatever pictures come into your head as you are reading them through do some thumbnail sketches of them. Once you have a few sketches choose the best one and work on it from there.

my advice would be to choose a muscial artist that is very vivid with its lyrics, as well as something well known throughout generations. the group that would fit that description would be the beatles.

how about the song across the universe?
"Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe. Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind, Possessing and caressing me...."

or

lucy in the sky with diamonds?
"Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with caleidoscope eyes.

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes
And she's gone...."

or even --

yellow submarine?
"In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
Till we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
in our yellow submarine..."

all of these songs, and many other beatles songs, are incredibly descriptive. you can imagine the image the song is painting. i can even forsee you using other mediums in creating the art of these lyrics (such as cellophane for the flowers in "lucy" for instance).

good luck in whatever you choose!
