I've always had a thing for that scream Jake Burns in Stiff Little Fingers does. Very grating. I guess a good example would be in "Wasted Life". Although it's not totally a scream, it's definately not conventional singing.
One that always gets me is the Iggy-scream in the begining of "T.V. Eye". "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORD!"
Johnny Rotten lets out some righteous screams in the Pistols's cover of "No Fun" that can curdle your blood.
I've always really loved the screaming that leads the Eater song "No Brains" during its descent into chaos.
"Yooooou, ain't gooot, no Brains!
Ya got no brains,
Nooooooo, braaaaaaaains,
Noooaaahhhhhhhhhhh!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
NOOOOOOOOO!"
Utterly sublime.
But my favorite today is on "Psycho" by the Sonics. At the end he really goes wild on it.
"Woooooooooooooooooooooow! Psycho!
Wooooooooow psycho! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!"
Kind of an exagerated Little Richard type yell, except, well exagerated and a little more raving madman instead of black soul. But it does still have soul.

Isis - what a great question!!! I've had discussions for YEARS about the best R&R scream. Without going to the vault or anything, the ones (or artists) that come to mind:
Mitch Ryder - "Rock n' Roll"/"Devil with a Blue Dress On"
Joe Cocker - live "Help From My Friends"
Roger Daltrey - "Won't Get Fooled Again"
Country Joe MacDonald - live "Your Love Is Like a Rainbow"
Darn! Running into brain lock right now! I'll edit if I think of more.

For me it has to be Ian Gillan at the start of Deep Purple's "Highway Star" on "Machine Head". To be honest, it's more because of the fact that it makes me laugh as opposed to being a favourite song or anything...What with the subject matter( boy racer crap), and the mental image of Ritchie Blackmore mincing around the stage and taking himself far too seriously, i sometimes forget that I really like the album in general....the best song Spinal Tap never wrote

Haha... the first thign that came to my head was Roger Water's screams in Careful With That Axe Eugene, kinda creepy :0)
But I'll have to agree with Joe D and say Ian's scream in Child In Time.
*edit... Isis, did you delete you answer for my perfect song question? Your answer's not there anymore.....
