selling frozen yogurt at a fair, you make $565 and use 250 cones a single scoop cost $2 and a double scoop cone cost $2.50 how many of each type of cone did u sell

Use eliminaton to solve the problem. Multiply -2 on the second equation.

2s+2.5d=565
-2s-2d=-500

d=130

s+d=250 -->
s+130=250 -->
s=120

So you sold 120 single scoops and 130 double scoops.

That means the amount of double scoop cones sold is 250-X (as the total sold is 250)

single scoop cones sell at 2, double sells at 2.5, 565 is made, so:

2X + (250-X)*2.5 = 565
2X + 625 - 2.5X = 565
-0.5X + 625 = 565
-0.5X = 565 - 625 = -60
0.5X = 60
X = 120

X was the amount of single scoops, double scoops is 250-X = 250-120 = 130

So 120 single, 130 double.
