A wire 80 cm long is cut into 3 pieces of lengths y, x and 55 − x − y and each piece is bent into squares. Find the absolute maximum and absolute minimum of the areas of these squares.

One piece is 55 long
Another is 25-x-y
The other is 25-x
The most that x or y can be is 25 cm

That doesn't make sense.
x + y + (55-x-y) = 55, when it should be 80
