Stay away from cafepress. Go to www.threadless.com, its legitimate and it pays a lot. There is also a great community of graphic designers.

I know artists who go both ways on this. Cafepress 'tells' you what sold, there's no way to audit them to find out if what they tell you is accurate. One artist got an email from a person who said they loved the clock they ordered, yet she never had CafePress tell her the item ever sold. Buyer beware.

You can find a local printer who can do t-shirts on better quality than what CafePress uses. You can even find printers who can do mugs and other promotional items for you, just check around asking for quotes to find the best deal. The downside is that you're the one ordering and stocking merchandise, whereas CafePress prints as needed. However they charge too much over there, you can't sell a t-shirt for below what they take as their manufacturing cost.

Gliche (sp?) prints on the other hand have a very good rep. Great quality, but they're limited in what they can be put on.

If you want to work with fabrics (bags, pillows, shoes, shirts, jackets) contact the lady over at http://www.magic-realist.com/ she's been putting out items of very high quality, and while she's in Europe, she can tell you what to look for in a printer or manufacturer at a good price.

hmmmm I have not heard of cafepress.com, could be. what do want to suggest is going to artwanted.com they are a really good place to sell your art through and to get your art noticed. I will though check out cafepress.com. I don't think though going through things like it would lower your rep. I have been a graphic artist for many years and this I can tell you. Years after going to school i even taught in graphic schools, do what you can for your name to be known.
