We tend to be hurried and over-scheduled.

We now expect everything to be instant.

We have a lot of stressors in our lives, such as not having enough money, or being put in double-binds.

AND we often don't have the social network that allows us to releive that stress.

People tend to not share with the people around them, but often try to "tough it out" and so fail to talk openly about things with the people who care about them most.

And few people are good listeners; when people DO tell us stuff, most people try to cheer the person up, or solve the problem, rather than simply listening in a sympathetic and supportive way.

Human beings suffer from stress because of their superior ability to think and reason. Animals do not suffer the same sort of anxiety and constant stress that people do because their thought processes are not as advanced as our own, and they are sure of only what is in front of them, and lack the ability to question what is not.

Man is the only animal which, from a very young age, knows that he will one day die, and that gift is also a curse, as with it comes the responsibility to keep ones self and ones family alive and away from that fate for as long as possible.

Stress is one of the most important survival mechanism in human beings. When stressed, your body gives a rush of adrenalin to enable you to do combat or escape danger. But of course we're not living in the stone age anymore. Back then an adrenalin kick would be helpful during hunting or running away from wild animals. Then when it's over the body retains its normal relaxed state.
But in this modern age, we get adrenalin rush almost the whole day! Home, kids, traffic, work etc. and our body is in adrenalin high and never relaxes the whole day. That's when the modern stress hits us.

I think your question is kind of vague, but I believe it is because of the amount of stimuli in daily life. The human body goes through billions of complex interactions in a day, from a conversation to breaking down food, and all of these operations can have a toll.

A lot of issues can lead to stress problems, but, if I'm understanding you correctly, "stress" might just be part of life.

I think we hold in way to many emotions and never let them out, this causes our bodies to absorb all this trauma on the inside, sometimes I think we need to just go outside and scream, I do alot of praying when I am under stress, this has always helped me but I still catch myself holding things in. Its something we should get better at with age, at least I hope so.

Because the hustle and bustle of everyday life can be extremely stressful. Society is a lot more complicated nowadays then it was, say, seventy years ago.

Job's can be demanding. Financial issues can be worrisome. Family problems. There's a whole slew of reasons.
