I was born in 1974, so I'm officially a Generation Xer. However, I've often felt that I have more in common with the Baby Boomers with regard to attitudes and musical tastes. Does anyone else here feel that he/she was born in the wrong generation?

Here, here! I'm a 79 baby, and feel more of a kinship with the forty somethings. My peers are still into clubs, drinking, how much "stuff" they can buy, who's house is bigger, not at all concerned with family members, and sacrificing of oneself. I can relate, darling. I also feel alienated from my generation, an "old soul" if you will. Great question!
