Actually, both statements about attracting and flocking are probably somewhat, but not totally, correct. Of course they are not applicable to all situations.

opposites attract girl well first of all i think that because one has the qualities that the other one is looking for ,and maybe because me and my girlfriend used to be best friends and were complete opposites,just some experience there

Both. I think that people that are alike migrate towards one another. But at the same time there are those friendships that you see something in the other person that you wish you could be and therefore are drawn to them.
