I heard that it would turn out positive if a girl was preg. I would like to use it and maybe it becomes positive? or these are just myths?

Ovulation tests and pregnancy tests use the same hormone variant to detect the surge of hormone. It is possible to get a positive result for pregnancy with an ovulation test, but it's best to follow up with a HPT just to be sure. Get them at the dollar store if you don't think you will be able to afford the more expensive kinds. They all work the same, pretty much.

Ovulation test strips and home pregnancy tests are not the same thing. They test for unrelated hormones.

You only get a positive on an ovulation test when your Lh hormones have peaked and you're about to ovulate within 24 hours. You do not produce the Lh hormone when you're pregnant.

And you only get a positive on a pregnancy test when you are producing high levels of HCG. That only happens when you're on steroids (or medications of that family) and you pregnant.

Nope, you will not be able to use the OPK test as a pregnancy test. The opk test detects the LH surge in your urine and if that's high then you get a +... On the other hand the pregnancy test detects a the hcg (pregnancy hormone) that appears to be high when you get pregnant... and that is how you get a +. As you see these tests detect different hormones in the women's body therefore you can't use the one for the other and vice versa. Good luck!

They say you can but I would'nt go by it if it came out positive.I would go and get a beta done.Just use a HPT,they sell them at the dollar store and they are accurate.Ovulation test picks up on your LH surge, pregnancy test HCG in your urine they both are horomones but different and meant to be for a reason.
