The real question is how many tunes do you have to put on your ipod. I have the old classic 60 gig photo ipod and have 3000 tunes on it and am a little over 10 gigs used.

If you have about the same, and want the latest and greatest spend the money for the itouch, but warning: it is new, and I suspect the price will fall and the technology is fairly new. But with the 160 gig classic, you cannot download off wifi at Starbucks etc. You can, however, store a lot of songs and video on the 160.

Do what makes you happy. That is the number one concern.

Forget the iPod. They're nothing but overpriced crap.

Get a Creative Zen: Vision for 30 GB. It's about $250-$300 and they are sometimes on sale at Circuit City. You can put video, pictures, and up to 15,000 songs on it. It also comes with an FM tuner, something that Apple would charge extra for.

Then, get an account with Yahoo! Music or Napster and you can sync the music you buy to your Zen.

When you buy your MP3 player, ALWAYS (and I mean ALWAYS) get a two-year-warranty! The battery on the MP3 player will only last 18 months or so (according to the guys at Circuit City).
