I think six. That's how many Iowa had last year but still got invited to the Alamo Bowl, which passed on teams with better conference records because they know how much we Iowans love to go somewhere else in the winter. After losing to some Big 12 team named after food, Iowa actually ended up with a losing record.

I don't know what the most ever was but I did see a team with 6 losses in a bowl game not too long ago. I can't remember the teams but I do remember thinking that a sub 500 team was in a bowl game seemed odd. They should just use the bowl games as a playoff for the BCS.

Maybe we should create a bowl game just for ND, than have the winner of 1-AA play them. That way they can feel what it was like to be Michigan against Appy state. . We can call it the General Mills Lucky Charms Cereal Bowl, and just so the Irish Don't complain, will even let them host the game at UND.

Don't know the number,but it had to be Notre Dame,they get to play in Bowl Games with pathetic records,and then get blown apart in the Bowl Game by the other team

prob was six being how they need 6 to get bowl eligible and teams play 12 games... but if they were like 0 - 4 out of conference and like 6 - 2 in conference or something and they somehow finished 1st and they had a conference championship and they lost but still made it to a bowl game a team could hypothetically be 6 - 7 and still make it to a bowl game

The New Mexico Lobos had 6 losses last year and got into a minor bowl game.

You have to have a winning record to get an invite, so probably five losses would be the max.
