I was looking in the phone book, and I saw abortion clinics that would abort the baby up until I think it was 26 weeks? I remember I was that far along when I saw it, and I started to cry. By then I already knew I was having a girl, and I saw her move on the ultra sound and I felt her moving every day. I almost lost her in the beginning, and that just tore me apart. I can't imagine anyone getting an abortion. By the time they are 22 days old, their brain has already started to develop. Most people don't find out until they are 6 weeks, at least, so by the time they abort...their baby already is developing her little brain!! I can't imagine ever doing that to my child.
As far as aborting your child because it will have mental or physical disabilities, I also think it is wrong. They were made that way for a reason. I work with adults who have developmental disabilities, and I'm so greatful for them. One of my clients just died yesterday, but the amount of love he had from his family and staff was just amazing. That is how he knew life...he walked around with his magazine, and ate and sat on the couch and would come over and touch you from time to time...but he was happy. He always smiled and he would play little games with you. It's sad that he couldn't live a life like you and me, but he was happy with the life that he lived.

Abortion is a personal choice. We have so may ways to control not getting pregnant in the first place, so my personal choice if I became pregnant and didn't want a child at that time, I would NOT get an abortion. I would have the baby and put it up for adoption. If you chose not to use birth control it's
on you to see the pregnancy through. I do believe a child is a gift from God, or why that swimmer and why that egg? It's a life in progress..so I believe if you're grown enough for bedroom gymnastics; you're old enough to deal with the out come.

My personal belief is it is wrong. But that is me. I am not a really unbiased?biased (however you say that) person, but i believe that women should definetly make an informed decision before they go in for one, whether or not to do it, and what theyre feelings will be in the future when they look back and think about what they did. Yes it is up to that particular woman what she wants to do with her baby, but she should think of the consequences later in life. I know it is hard on women who is infertile/having a hard time getting pregnant/keeping a pregnancy, to see these women destroy there babies tho, esp. when it comes to the adoption issue, because hey that baby that was just aborted could have possibly become ours one day. I thank you for letting me state my opinion on the matter! Very good question!

Abortion is completely stupid, and any pregnant woman who insists on getting an abortion should be put in jail for life, and killed the next day. I'm cruel today, but wateva, y would you want to kill a baby, there's no reason. If you don't want it, put it up for adoption, if you're afraid it will hurt, have them cut you open and remove it, there's an answer to every question or reply or whatever that person who wants the abortion says. There's no reason.

I believe the power to choose, regardless of circumstances. Would I personally get an abortion, probably not, I think that makes me lucky. And for people who say adoption, yes it's a option but not a very good one. As someone who's Mother and Uncle's spent most of their childhood in foster care, having heard their stories, I would never wish that on a child of my own, especially not a child of color, because to be honest, those are the babies that grow up in homes that they can never call their own, thinking that no one ever wanted them. In a perfect world there would be enough support for single/unwed mothers that they wouldn't have to get abortions so that abortions could be used for medical/ rape reasons only. But our world is far from perfect and so I see abortions as a necessary evil. Give me a thumbs down if you wish, but you asked for an opinion and I am giving mine.

totally agree with you
If you really don't want to get pregnant in the first place, take the right precations or just don't do it! It's completely wrong and murder to kill the baby, it's sick.
But then when it's because of rape I'm kinda iffy. I still think it's murder and wrong but I suppose it would be hard to keep a baby after that. Personally, even then, I think you should keep the baby and value the life over the horror of how it came about, but that's never happened to me so I dunno.
EDIT - since reading the others and thinking about it more I've changed my mind, I think if you do get raped, as horrible as it is you would be better putting the child up for adoption or getting over the incident and caring for it yourself, seeing as it's still your child!
It's plain murder

As a born again Christian, I believe that abortion is absolutely wrong. From the moment of conception, this is a life and if you didn't want it, then don't have sex. Not to mention that there are so many people who cannot have a child, but would love and care for someone elses.

Abortion is taking away a life that could be. I believe not only is it morally wrong but it has its consequences. We all hear the cliche of how that baby could be the future scientist who finds the cure to cancer but its true we are murdering our future generations. Why?? because we dont want to take responsibility. I am 100% anti-abortion. Why live with the horrid nightmares of you killing your child?

Abortion = Murder! It's a very cut an dry subject. I don't think anyone should ever kill their child! There is always a family who would love to adopt. Plus the guilt of an abortion is something mo one ever gets over. It's a lose/lose situation.

I definitely think it's MURDER, not a form of "birth control". There is a heartbeat 18 days from conception, which is around the time a lot of women find out they're pregnant in the first place. If women don't want to be pregnant, they should be responsible enough not to have sex if they aren't married, and if they are, they should use birth control. If their birth control fails, then they should step up to the plate and raise the child they helped to create.
Women need to decide not to have a child BEFORE they become pregnant, not after!
