Why not? I took my son when he was that age. We didn't go to too many homes mainly family and friends, some neighbors. Or go with a group

My son kinda started when he was almost two (just a few houses), and really started when he was two (almost three)... when he was old enough to say "Trick or Treat" on his own. Big bro (16) and I go along with him, since he's too little to go on his own.

He's three (almost four) now, and we'll be taking his 10-month-old baby brother with us, tonight, although the baby can't actually eat any candy. He'll enjoy being out and seeing the sights, though, I think. We have a few "fun" houses in the neighborhood.

I don't know how old you are, so this may not apply, and I don't mean it to be an insult to anyone. Often when I see kids that can't walk & talk (unless out with older siblings) I think mom is still wanting to t or t. (I suppose I don't think about the excitement involved in it being the baby's first exposure.)

IMO i'd say wait until (s)he is about 2 - 3; they're old enough to have fun and be cute and involved in the process.

Either way, Happy Halloween.

My daughter turned 2 in August and this will be her first time trick or treating. I think your son is too young.

Of course you can. I would recommend going to an event where lots of people will be handing out candy in one place. I'm taking my 2-year-old to our church's Trunk or Treat. (People set up games and candy in their trunks.)

Our family doesn't put them out for trick or treating til you're 5. We think it looks bad, like you're begging and sleazy to bring babies and toddlers around.

No - wait until he's 3 or 4. If you can't explain the idea to him, he's too young to go.
