Honey, we're all facing racism. Do you know how hard it is be a white male nowadays and not be called a racist. My friend, who is the manager of a company, just fired a black employee who is now is bringing the company up on charges saying that she was fired because she was black. Even though she has the worst attendance and work performance record in the entire office.

That's simple. It's because race relations between whites and blacks have always been pretty crummy. The Civil Rights Movement was not even fifty years ago so there are many people living today who have seen firsthand the mistreatment of blacks.
Unfortunately, today's generation refuses to see the racism that exists and they shove it aside, accusing people of playing the "race card". Too bad, because the first step to solving a problem is acknowledging it.
No one wants to acknowledge that racism is a problem, so it always will be one.

Because the civil rights movement was a relatively recent event, and there are still people alive today who grew up with a seperatist attitude. I think things are getting better, but the older generation definitely has some backwards attitudes. Unfortunately, we might have to give it some time, but at least we're trying to speed it along.

Wow, that's a very generalized question! But I would say, in general, it's because the civil rights movement was only 50 years ago. My mom's generation saw desegregation. That means my grandparents lived most of their lives with segregation and the general attitude that white people are better. I think it's miraculous we've come so far in only 1-2 generations, especially with all of the people alive today who lived during that time and still consider it the right way of thinking.
I'm happy to belong to a generation that's beginning to insist on equality and the demise of institutionalized racism.

Because we're visible. There is no why I could ever pass for white. And no matter what I do some jerk will say I got a break because I'm black.
Being black has never been a help, or a hindrance, for me.

blacks are still facing racism because lots of "white" people still think that they are better than black people..........the effects of slavery stil remain........discimination and stereotypical and exaggerated views on how black people are, are still believed to be the truth
other minorities are racist towrds black people also........some hate black people just as much and even more than some "white" people
I have no idea why people hate black people.......I g uess one day we'll all know the truth and it will be very SHOCKING

Because our skin features, and everything about us stands out and is different from other races. People tend to not understand us and think they are better.

for the same reason everyone else is. Read a couple of posts on this site. I think you will find that racism isn't disproportionately aimed at anyone. white/black/Asian/Hispanic....they are all hateful because someone else hates them too.
