You are right. I know people try to say we who believe in pro-life are naive, but it really goes the other way. They are selfish, dumb, and don't think things through. Ironically, they all end up regretting their decisions and they have to live with themselves for the rest of their lives.

I am neither pro-choice or pro-life. I choose to never have an abortion. But I can can't make that decision for another person. I do think that in most cases abortion was a selfish choice. There are other cases though that it may seem like the best option. And I don't mean only medical reasons. Here a situation, A 10 year old girl is molested by a member of her family. She ends up pregnant, since she is so young there is a good chance of complications and extra emotional damage. Should she have to carry that child? Now I am sure a lot of people are going to disagree with what I said. They are probably going to say that doesn't happen that often. But it does happen. Who are we to make that choice for that person?

I hate the idea of abortion , but you have to be realistic, if you force women to have children they don't want .. the majority of these kids will end up in over crowded foster homes, then a huge percentage will end up in jail or quite simply... alot of these women will abandon them, to then grow into men/women with personality disorders because they've never been anywhere where they were wanted ... it's a sad reality but it's the truth
Also the arguement that you don't know what the child can accomplish is invalid, 95 percent of humans will accomplish NOTHING during their life time except eat, work, reproduce, consume and talk sh!t, and the 'well, you never know' idea is also weak, the same way you NEVER know if a child will grow up to be a freedom fighter, you NEVER know if that same child will grow up to be a dictator... Sadly You can't think about the unborn child's protential, you have to think about how the mother WILL not take of him, and how society with then do a horrible job of making it an adult.
Again, I hate abortion with a passion but the idea that every unborn fetus has an basic default right to life is incredibly naive, especially in this type of society. I'm against abortion but it SHOULD BE legal for those who want it.
And about the constitution, you contradict yourself saying the constitution gives us the right to LIFE, but then go on to say "God has a plan for all of us"... which doesn't come into play seeing as how the U.S. supposedly believes in seperation of Church and State....
Abortion is up to the individual, I would hope never to go through something like that with a partner, but again... it should be available to those who choose to do it.
edit - to the girl who said that we should fix the foster care system... do you want a 17 year girl earning minimum wage to go fix the foster care system before her abortion so her baby has a nice place to go 9 months from now? Please tell us how she can do it in about 6 hours before her appointment at the clinic... I'd love to know

I am pro-choice because I'm not naive enough to think everything is in back or white.
If a dumb teenager or a irresponsible adult finds herself accidently pregnant, she could put the child up for adoption - sure. The child will live, but not ALL kids are as lucky as you. Some are unwanted, sit in Orphanages, are pulled in and out of Foster Homes, eventually becoming a strain on society while we pay hard-earned tax dollars to keep this person afloat.
AND how do you explain away keeping a pregnancy by rape? Why should ANYONE be forced to give birth to a child created by violence?
Many of you Pro-Life people don't bother to look at the bigger picture.

Some people want to have an abortion because they were pregnant by a person of a different race. Instead of bringing an abomination biracial into the world who will not have a racial identity, they get rid of it.

True, everyone does have a right to life, and the Constitution is upholding that. Which uphold the Bill of rights wich is Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. If a woman feels that by having a child, this impedes on HER rights as stated in the Bill of Rights,. then she IS within her rights to CHOOSe wether she is going to be a mother or not, and if not, she has the choice if she is going to bring a child into this world and give it up for adoption or terminate her pregnancy. We all have the freedom to choose whatever path we want, and if this is NOT the path for you, well then so be it. But it is not for you or any congressman to make that decision for anyone else. You would be surprised just how quickly you will start to see rights that you are only BEGINNING to see the value of (freedom of speech?) be taken away once you allow a house full of men in suits start making your personal decisions for you. Blessings...... Oh and Psychmaj, I am pro-choice because I want to have control over my own fate as God intended. I needn't have anyone taking away any facet of what FREEWILL entails. By doing so, it impedes on what God gave me, and you, so I fel that decisions like that are best left up to the individual. Judge them as you may, but you are not privvy to everyones particular circumstnaces, so you shouldn't be calling everyone who has an abortion irresponsible. Very short-sighted indeed.

You were blessed with two people who wanted to adopt you. The reality is that most children don't get adopted. Most children are warehoused, or shuffled from one foster home to another, until they're 18. Some foster parents aren't fit to care for goldfish. Because of the constant changes, many children suffer from psychosocial disorders. The greatest determinant of future child abuse and or neglect is an unwanted pregnancy. That's why abortion is so very personal. We have to weigh very personal values.
Before you judge, remember you were among the lucky.

I hate to tell you this, but you are a rarity, not many people even believe in God or understand his basic intentions. The unbelievers are the poeple who consider a child an inconveinience rather than a blessing. Just keep spreading the WORD.

These people try to say it's all about choice--they are framing the argument like this, and it's deceitful. It's not about choice, especially since we each have the right to choose, the real question is, is the choice right or wrong?
You are absolutely right, allowing abortion is unconstitutional. Laws are supposed to safeguard our God-given rights, life being one of those rights.
It comes down to selfishness.

people are pro-choice because they don't take responsibility for their actions.
People are also pro-choice because they are afraid to face their traumas.
These people don't care about life; they care about themselves and their problems. They are selfish.
FIX THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM, BUT DON'T GO AROUND KILLING INNOCENT BABIES SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU ASSUME THAT THEY WILL HAVE A ROUGH LIFE. LIFE ISN'T EASY, PERIOD. THAT DOESN'T WARRANT KILLING. It's a pretext to justify what you're doing.
JBN, I agree with you; there are instances where it isn't so black and white, but I'm specifically referring to people who abort simply because they weren't smart enough to protect themselves and to the ones who don't face their traumas, but take it out on their unborn child.
