. . . should I leave my lights on (as I usually do when no one is home) or leave them off so they won't come to the door and find no one home? I live in a decent neighborhood and I really don't expect "trouble", but would rather not come home to a house covered in eggs or TP. Lol!

ask a neighbor to pass out the candy for you - that's what i do

I have to leave my lights on as well since I'm going to be out with my two boys trick or treating. One year we left a basket outside with individual treat bags in it. That didn't work b/c a neighbor told us a couple people grabbed TONS. So I stopped using that technique and I leave my lights on and a sign letting the Ghosts and Goblins know that we are not handing out candy, or try Sorry, ran out of candy.. Happy Trick or Treating !! The extra touch should keep you from being a target of eggs and T.P. Hope it works.

Go ahead and your leave your lights on..that way they won't be more likely to egg ur house or cover it up with TP cuz they "think somebody is actually there"

if you have candy might as well leave it out in a bowl most kids are civilized and only take a couple, this way you can leave the light on for yourself

leave an inside light on and the porch light off
or set your bowl on your steps i have seen that
