When it came out it was probably genius. But nowadays yes, it is lame.
Same with some of the old horror movies. I remember seeing Poltergiest in the theatres and it scared the crap out of me. But with the stuff they are pushing out in horror movies today it's nothing now.
I like horror movies with a plot, not just slasher/lets see how many people we can gross out movies.
