NO ONE. That's who. A-rod was going to make $29 million next year. That's twenty-nine million friggin dollars. Who do you think can pay him more than that? He's no longer valuable if you have to cut the rest of your team to pay him. Can't Scott Boras see that? He can't play all nine positions and pitch every day...

So you just made my point for me, Mr. Red Stocking! Matsuzaka got $103 million for nine years. That's $11.4 million per year. That's fine. A-rod wants more than $30 million per year. You see the difference, genius?

A-rod would look great in an Astros uniform, but NO WAY IN HELL do we ever afford him...

Hm. He walks away from 29 million, a team that's made the post season 12 straight years, fans who boo him when he puts up Gehrig/Ruth type numbers -- and he's all about money. Sorry. I don't see what you're about. He isn't guaranteed to get $30 million, and if no one will pay it he can't get it. Could it be -- could it be, I say -- that maybe YOU geniuses have it figured wrong. Oh, I'm sorry. Of course not. Let me put it another way. You're wrong, ding dong. He's already taken in enough money to buy Idaho -- if he's walking away from $29 million, maybe this time he's after something else.

Oh, and another thing -- Jesus -- I know you would refuse the money because the opinions of the people here on Y/A are very important to you, even if someone does offer $30 or more, but what is so bad about someone else -- A-Rod, for example -- saying, "Well, all right. If you want to pay me that much, I'll take the money." Unless you tithe and give away 50 % of your salary to charity, you're a hypocrite.

if arod wants to win a world championship, he needs to stop asking for these ridiculous $$$ on his contracts and find a team that he will feel comfortable in and are title contenders. Arod asks for these million $$$ contracts that when teams buy him, they are unable to get anyone else to better the team and in fact lose alot of good players just to have him...the way i see it the yankees are the only team that can put up the money hes looking for and be in a world series hunt but if he cant hack it there, take a pay cut and go to a team like the angels or even the M's. Geez is having that many lambos that important over title rings!!!

The bidders will be lining up; yes he will be asking for the GDP of Belize but there are always owners willing to pony up the big cash to get it done, if the Yankees do not then someone else will; if you look the past few years the Cubs and Red Sox have been out spending everyone in Free Agent market so they can never be counted out. The Marlins are a darkhorse but they are looking for someone to lead them into their new stadium and nothign like a hometown boy to do that...most of the teams in the league will offer him something ridiculous that they will claim they can not afford.

When you are the best player in the game there are always plenty of teams that will have an interest. Take a look at the attached article and maybe it will give you some additional insight.

I haven't seen how much A-Rod is asking for a salary. What's his price? Until i know that, I can't assume it's all about money.

I honestly hope that no one pays him that money. That's friggin ridiculous. I'd be wiping my rear with $100 bills making that kind of money.
Maybe this is Scott's strategy for getting the money he wants, which may really be say $25million.
