Obviously if they have decorations out it's ok to knock. Otherwise, it's hit or miss.

Yes, only the ones with the porch lights on.. and bring a flashlight just in case.. Or drive him to a near by housing community that has all Halloween decor outside.. We usually try to hit up the new homes..
Happy Halloween!

Take him to a nice neighborhood. There is no fun in apartment complex trick or treating.
and the rules are if the lights arent on(on the porch) they have no candy and or dont participate in halloween events or they arent home.lol

It's the same as a dark house. Don't knock. The apartments with at least some form of decoration are the ones handing out candy.

A well organized apartment complex will have signs made for the residents to put on their door. It wouldn't hurt to ask the land lord or another resident.

In my neighbor hood, the rule is if you want trick or treaters, then leave on your porch light. If the light is off, then don't go to their house.

If the lights are on right at the door then it's free game. That's what we usually go by. No lights=no knocks. Have fun!

Go to a nearby neighborhood of houses that are well lit and where you feel safe and comfortable. He'll get more candy!

I am not sure we do not get kids at ours. The doors are also locked and you have to be buzzed in by someone you know.
