Satruday, while visiting my relatives, they asked me if I ever hear from my sister. I grew up as an only child and never had any knowledge of my parents having any other children.
They told me that after I was born, my father cheated on my mother and had a daughter from someone else.
I would like to find her but both my mother and father are dead. The only information they have on my sister is that her first name started with a C.
I know that is not much to go on but is their a way I could track her down. I know that she was born in Queens New York. I know my fathers name but that's all.
Do I have enough info or should I just give up the search?

Help please

yes, you did just that right? I have more. The NY health depatment has a record of all legal births even if the parents weren't together. Get a record of live birth for any children your father is listed on the birth certificate. If he isnt on them then there isn't an easy way.

It depends on how unusual your father's name is and whether he put his name on the birth certificate. If it is a common name, much less chance. You will have to get as good an idea as possible of when she was born, the narrower the years or months, the closer you can get.
You may wish to contact a local "birth parent" tracking group, not necessarily for their help, but to find out the rules in NY for investigating and contacting.

don't give up... go to all the hospitals in queens... or perhaps go to the heath department, that is where birth/death records are... do you know the approximate year? all you have to do is look up your father's name... they should have a file for him in the computer or something... that's if this woman put him on the birth certificate? if not, look up all the children born w/ the letter C in those years when you think the child was born... or search online, hmmm... or go on TV! =) good luck! =) the truth is out there somewhere... hmmm...

Try contacting some of your father's family members or his old friends. They may know of her or at least be able to give you her mother's name.

Hopefully someone in the family knows something. If you can come up with any kind of name/names &/or location,it's a long shot, but start with:

This is a new twist to you trolling behavior.

But, yes, I believe that may actually be enough. Given you know your fathers SSN too.

Yes, you may look for her. Ask your relatives or hire a detective.
