I'm an ex NY'r. Lived there most of my life.
The idea that the people would, after years of growth under Pataki and the failures of Clinton in the senate, chose a democrat to lead the state is just beyond comprehension to me.
I blame the Republican party. Their plan was to move former Mass Governor William Weld into the governor's office. Dumb.
John Faso beat him with support from the Conservative party which was self defeating in the general election of a predominately liberal state. The consequence was that Spitzer's opposition was a token effort and he became the default choice.

A poll last night showed that a huge majority of New Yorkers don't want illegals to have driver's licenses. We can't recall him, but we can end his future political career by never again voting for him for anything at all.

I don't think we can recall him but we can never vote for him again. the problem is as long as he isn't stupid enough to bring this up again most people will forget about it before 2009......

I care plenty, and so does my county... that's why they plan to arrest any illegals that show up to try to get a license, and detain them for ICE.
At least it's the nail in his political coffin.
