If you don't have professional references, then use personal references.
What they are looking for are people who will vouch for your skills. But they are also looking for people who will vouch for your character. Are you a hard worker? Are you reliable? Would they hire you if you had the skills for a job they were offering?
You can use your doctor, previous teachers, your clergyman or anyone who really knows you well, like a family friend (preferably someone with a good job).
Having no references will make it seems like you are not trustworthy. Find some, and ask them if they will let you use them on your applications.
Good luck!

Start your resume/CV with your educational background. Then followed by your work background but instead of writing those you worked for, write under the job titles (these you can make up since your previous works are informal) the job responsibilities. Also include your skills like those you have mentioned. I'm sure that your possible employer won't mind your lack of work references since you're only 18. What's important is that you have some skills, can follow directions well and a winning attitude towards work. Good Luck!!!

List the things you're good at, like organization, punctuality, and leadership.
Get "personal references" from friends and parents of friends listing your good qualities.
List the activities you've participated in at school.
Assure your prospective employers that you're willing to learn.
Everybody has to start with a first job. Dress well, show confidence, be pleasant and don't slouch while you're being interviewed. Lean toward the person who is interviewing you to show interest. Good luck. We all went through this before we got our first "real" job!

You are going to have to convince somebody that you are worth taking the risk of hiring. So make sure you are dressed well and do not wear anything that might be objectionable to anyone, like weird hair styles, tatoos (cover them up), too many piercings. And you must be able to communicate well. At 18 you will likely have to start at a job that most other people will not want. I suggest you go to college and get a proper education.

Can you list any former teachers as references? Getting an A in a class that required hard work and proving you're smart couldn't hurt.
Do you have any relatives with good jobs that you can list?
