I would love to see the Dodgers get back on track! I think he will do well. As a Yankee fan I would love to see the Steinbrenners eat crow as Torre and the Dodgers win a world series! It would serve them right!!

He'll make the Dodgers a playoff contending team. The Dodgers have a rock solid offense and defense that Torre will be able to work on. I think he'll make them a wild-card team.
Joe Torre will love the atmosphere out there also, dodger fans are almost as passionate as the Yankees, so it will be as like he never went anywhere....

it would be awesome the dodgers need help right now...and Torre need to show the Yankees they made a mistake, if the dodgers sign Torre and make a couple of moves they may actually contend next year, keep in mind they r in the same division as the padres and the Rockies it would make more fun to watch...

A great move for both Torre and the Dodgers.

I hope he can make something out of the sorry mess the Dodgers have become. I look forward to the Yankees playing the Dodgers in the World Series once again.

I really like Torre, but he's too hard core for the Dodgers, then again maybe that's what they need.

Its a good situation for him and the Dodgers. Maybe now the Dodgers can get some good free agents.

It will prove that the Dodgers are a mediocre team. Torre is just a big name. Not the greatest of managers. I could have managed the Yankees and won too.Â

Cool. At least LA will have a team to possibly cheer for in the playoffs. Lakers, NOT! Kings, NOT! Dodgers, maybe?

Unless Torre is going to pencil himself in the lineup every day to help their offense or pitching staff, I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make.
Torre had a losing record before coming to New York, and he did well with the all-stars he was given every year in a Yankees uniform. He can win with good players, but he isn't going to turn a third-place team into champions without help from the front office. People often overstate the importance of managers, and I think this is just such a case.
