The picthes on Australia are bouncy so the tall guy like V.R.V can make good use of the that.
Also he hits the deck hard.

I am sure that Pathan will struggle in Australia bcz of lack of pace (at least in test cric, though i hope not).

R.P boy is a fine swing bowler, Anil will be our frontline spinner.

So my 7 bowlers for down under series would be -

* Brother Jumbo
*Zaheer Khan
*R.P.Singh
*V.R.V Singh
*Harbhajan
*Murali Karthik
*Sreesanth

****Note - If the plan is to play with 5 bowlers then i will also pick Pathan boy as an allrounder.

My regular 4 for the first test at BOUNCY PERTH -
*V.R.V Singh (front line attack bowler)
*Zaheer Khan ( He will share the new ball)
*R.P Singh
*Brother Jumbo

On the SPINNING SYDNEY WICKET -
*V.R.V
*Zaheer
*R.P
*Brother Jumbo
*Karthik/Harbhajan
(2 spinners will do the job at sydney)

******V.R.V should be used as our 'Trump card' against the Aussie tall batsmen ;like Hayden,Symo.

V.R.V should bowl body line (lol)

Come on INDIA!

I think Ranadep Bose & Ishant Sharma are still not ready to take on Aussie batsmen.
V.R.V is a ready material.

We need to show some confidence in V.R.V Singh, he's quite talented.

Come on say it with me -

@ Asif - It's all about showing confidence in a guy's abilities.
When legendary Wasim Akram started, he never had great domestic record but he had the talent & Imran Khan saw that talent & he gave a chance to that talented guy .

This is the differnce between a great man like 'Imran Khan' & our dumb Indian selectors.

Aussies will be hitting all our medium pace bowlers at front foot. We need a tall fast bowler to push back their batsmen to backfoot. Then our swing bowlers will put them in trouble.

It's all gameplan. The reason why i am with this guy is pace & height. He may not get 4 wickets for 50 runs but he will do one very important job & that is to push the Australians on backfoot.

We need atleast 1 guy to bowl those bouncers at them regularly & the only that i can think of at thye moment who can do this is V.R.V.

It's all in the brain. It's all about strategy, game plan & V.R.V can be a trump card. Show some confidence in him & you.

All are bowlers are same. We need variety

While I do agree that V.R.V. Singh is a good bowler, unfortunately he has not done justice for his talent whenever opportunity was given to him. He is still young and has the talent to become a spearhead of Indian bowling attack if nurtured carefully. Hence bringing him back in the team in the series against Australia will be a big gamble as if he fails to perform, it will adversely affect his carreer. I strongly feel that he should be played regularly against weaker teams in order to regain his confidence and alsointernational exposure before rushing him against strong teams like Australia.

Well I think TOI summed it up beautifully : " It's easier to steal gold from Fort Knox than to beat Australia in Perth." Australian bank have been robbed off. That's why it was said that this was a series between the cricket's undoubted champions and their celebrated challengers. But what India has achieved here is just mind-boggling. That too beacause of what all happened the previous week. Well it will be an absolute mayhem in Oval. Hail the man- Anil Kumble for the steely resolve and showing such a great character. Best man to lead the country in such tough times.

I dont think VRV can handle the Aussie batsmen yet. He was struggling even against West Indies a lot. Not quite sure if he would be good. I would rather not take a chance with him. You take a chance, make one mistake, and Aus are ready to capitalise on you.

I wont take a chance against Aus

VRV's stats are something like this in Test cricket:

He has played 5 tests, taken 8 wickets at an average of 53.37 and a strike rate of 83.6. His econ rate is 3.82 (And this is a test economy). His best bowling 3/48 is against Bangladesh.

3 wickets against Ban
3 wickets against SA.
2 wickets against WI.

No doubt he has been a good domestic cricketer. But I dont think he still has it in him to be bowling against the Aussie run machines.
