What are some things to do in Vegas on New Year's?

I am heading down to Vegas with 6 friends for New Year's and I wanted to know what some of the cool things to do are for the Night of the 31st? Any clubs, suggestions? Wander the strip?

I'm going to be downtown on NYE.

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to stay there or head up to the strip.

Most hotels are going to have a NYE party, but you pretty much have to be invited or buy tickets >Usually it's hotel guests only for the NYE parties.

The major resorts on the strip lock their doors to all but hotel guests.

wander the strip is the best
and downtown is where they have the huge toast
last year they broke the record for most ppl in a toast with the major
and when its 12:00 there the amazing fireworks show where you could watch from the strip
but go to the palms and go to the club at the top and you could veiw the whole strip from there
