If oil tops $100 barrel, $4 to $5 a gallon will not be out of the question for gas. And home heating oil?...forget about it.

Natural gas prices are low? Where on earth have you been living? Natural gas prices are setting records and are up 10% this year so far over the 25% they went up last year.

The US is never pro-active. When doom is just around the corner perhaps they will focus on the problem. I'm glad I have a lot of blankets around the house.

What regulators, there are none anymore.
Haven't you noticed that EVERY reason given for oil price jumps in the last 10 years have been "for the fear of" and not one of those fears materialized but the price remained high.
The oil companies have falsely reported the high price of heating oil "due to unseasonably cold winters" we have been having record warm winters for years.
Again we have "tell a lie loud enough and long enough it becomes true."
Whats sad is, that darn misinformative left wing media has helped to enable these lies.
"the last nine years are all among the top 25 warmest on record"
California's problems were caused by good ole boys like ENRON

Historically speaking, regulating the energy market INCREASES fuel prices and shortages. (Remember what happened in the 70s and recently in California? Due to regulatory price controls, utility companies were paying more for electricity than they were allowed to charge customers. I think we know how that turned out.)

How will regulators decrease gas prices?

It's a conspiracy. The global warming supporters are driving up the cost of gasoline to make us cut back on CO2 emissions.
