The answer is x=9

10x + 1 = 6x + 37 – added together the 2x and 8x
4x + 1 = 37 – took away 6x from both sides
4x = 36 – took away 1 from both sides
So, x = 9

First you must move all the like items to one side. So I will subtract 6x from both sides of the equation. 2x+1+8x-6x=6x+37-6x. Then I will compute the equation for this step. 2x+8x-6x+1=37 which gives me 4x+1=37. I then move the other like terms to the other side of the equation.So I will subtract 1 from both sides of the equation. 4x+1-1=37-1. Then I compute the equation for this step.4x=36. Then to get the final step complete in the equation I must divide both sides of the equation by 4 or multiple by 1/4. 4x x 1/4=36 x 1/4. then I solve the equation x =9. This is the solution

First get all x's on same side:

2x+1+8x=6x+37
2x+8x-6x=37-1. Then add up:
4x=36 Then divide each side by 4:
x=9

4x = 36 because
in 2x+1+8x you collect the like terms together & u get 10x+1.
u now want all the x on one side and all the numbers on one side
u first take the 6x to the 10x [coz the small amount always goes onto the big amount]. wenever you swap something onto the other side of the equal sign, the sign [ +/-] changes. if its negative it becums positive n if its positive it becums negative

the 6x is positive so it becomes -6x. 10x - 6x = 4x.
then u take the 1 to the 37. this is also positive so it becomes 37-1 = 36.

so the answer is 4x = 36

2x + 1 + 8x = 6x + 37
10x + 1 = 6x + 37
-1 -1
10x = 6x + 36
-6x -6x
4x = 36
/4 /4
x = 9

x = 9 is the quick answer

You want to get all the x's on one side. You do that by adding up the 2x + 8x on the left = 10x
Then subtract the 6x from the right side = 4x
Subtract 1 from the left to = 36 on the right side

4x = 36
Divide both sides by 4 & you get x = 9

2x+1+8x=6x+37 (add the x's)

10x+1=6X+37 (subtract 6x frm both sides)

4x+1=37 (subtract 1 from both sides)

4x=36 (divide 4 from both sides)

x=9

2x+ 1 +8x = 6x + 37
first you are going to collect all the like- terms...
so you should end up with....
2x + 8x -6x = 37 - 1 ( the signs will change when grouping like- terms)
now add and substrate respectively.
4x = 36
now you want x by it self. you are going to divide by 4.
4x/4 = 36/4
cancel
answer x = 9

2x+1+8x=6x+37
2x + 8x - 6x = 37 - 1
4x = 36
x = 9

Hope that helps
