One of the most brilliant mandolin players and singers I have ever heard. His collaborations with Tony Rice are unparalleled in beautiful music. Check it out if you possibly can. You won't be disappointed.

Ricky Skaggs ruled the early-mid 80's in country music. I always thought his early stuff was his best.
He went through a real strong blue grass stage, and now is more focused on gospel music. Saw him the other day on TV. He's gained quite a bit of weight, but still sounded great.

Yes, the current king of bluegrass. He had a brief stint in country music, around the time Randy Travis' popularity hit its peak. He has won numerous grammy with his band Kentucky Thunder, runs his own record label Skaggs Family Records.

Yes he and his band are top notch. His best accomplishment is marrying Sharon White of The Whites! I believe they have a CD out together now. He has quite a history in the music business, starting when he was very young. I like the way he promotes Bill Monroe.
