Learn to do these yourself...

ax^2 + bx + c
first multiple and c. Then factor it out and see if the sum (if the product of a and c is positive) or difference (if ac is neg)
match the value of b

7 x (-2) = - 14 and 7 - 2 = 5
so (7x - 2)(x + 1) is the factor

3x(-3) = -9 and -9 + 1 = -8
(3x+1)(x-3) is the second one

now you could try and do the last two

These can be very tough at first, but with practice it will come to you.

7. 7x^2 + 5x - 2 = 0
(7x - 2)(x + 1)
7x - 2 = 0; x + 1 = 0
7x=2; x = -1
x = 2/7 & x = -1 --> Answer

8. 3x^2 - 8x - 3 = 0
(3x+1)(x-3)
3x + 1 = 0; x - 3 = 0
3x = -1; x = 3
x = -1/3 & x = 3 --> Answer

9. 2x^2 - 8x +8 = 0
(2x - 4)(x - 2) = 0
2x - 4 = 0; x - 2 = 0
2x=4; x=2
x=2 --> Answer

10. 12x^2+8x+1
(6x + 1)(2x + 1) = 0
6x +1 = 0; 2x + 1 = 0
6x = -1; 2x = -1
x = -1/6; x = -1/2 --> Answer
