We shouldnt trust them they send us produce with pesticides that are banned in this country. Additionally the FDA etc simply dont test for several chemicals.
He said that the agency did not test imported foods for a wide variety of pesticides, some of which can cause cancer. Among these are a group of chemicals called EBDC'S, or ethylenebisdithiocarbamates, which are used as fungicides for a wide range of imported foods, including grapes, potatoes, tomatoes, fruits, nuts, bananas and rice. These chemicals produce a breakdown product called ETU, or ethylenethiourea, which the E.P.A. has identified as a probable cause of cancer in humans.
Does anyone believe that simply not checking for things makes them safe. Even if they check 60% (something I really doubt) but only check for a couple things could you call that safe??
Think for a few minutes.....
Restless leg syndrome when you were little did your grand parents ever have this kind of disease. The epidemic of autism. Where does all this come from?

I wish congress would take their own advice , the democratic leaders are calling for the head of the consumer protection agency to step down for not doing her job , seeing how congress is not doing theirs either I think they too should step down , and as far as toys go , it is simple , don't trust China , don't buy their junk , stay out of wal mart , ...You can thank Clinton for this one , he opened the gate for China and wal mart as to increase the stock he , and Hillary had , in Wal -Mart , he said as does Hillary , it was for my fellow Americans , thanks Bill , and Hillary ,we appreciate it ,
Most toys bought for kids , are bought because parents want toys for kids , the kids could actually care less , 60% of all learning toys are used until the batteries die , and within 3 months the kids lose interest anyway ..why waste the money .
Kids got along fine without electronic toys , and before all this wide selection of toys kids were brought up better , and respected the parents ,and others and they were taught to use their imaginations , now we import that for them too ...
Before rows and rows of toys we have today , kids did not pitch fits in stores crying I want it , mom counting to 20 saying "NO" then get the toy anyway , which has led kids to be more self centered ..we teach the kids to live in a world of excess and it is causing more trouble than ever before , we have kids killing parents for money , kids killing because things are not their way , we buy toys because a child professional who has no children says we should , by the way that pro , is a governement employee , and the government wants us to spend ,which is why the pro says to buy it , spend and not save is what they want , so they can provide housing , food , and medical care.

This conjures up images of an old Simpsons episode I remember where ships were loading up crates of "Heartland Oatmeal" and "Maine Lobsters" produced within China.
However, it should be noted that the American food industry has a long history of putting relatively unhealthy additives and preservatives in our food supply. We should start cleaning up our own backyard before lecturing others how to do theirs. Lead by example.

We should never have given them most favored nation status. What an incompetent bunch of nuckleheads we have in Washington DC. Free trade has allowed them to own a lot of American T-bills and buy a lot of new weapons.

Why can we not trust our government to regulate imports?
"" Top Democratic lawmakers demanded Tuesday the resignation of the US consumer product safety chief and unveiled plans for stiffer enforcement laws after Halloween toys became the latest tainted made-in-China goods to be recalled.""
"" Also Tuesday, the CPSC came under fire in a expert report for lack of staff -- it has only one full-time toy tester -- and capability in examining imported items.
Nord, an appointee of President George W. Bush, has stood firm against proposed legislation seeking to increase the agency's authority and staff, double its budget and increase the maximum penalties for safety violations.
Her stand was largely in line with the broadly deregulatory approach of the Bush administration.""

I have gone on a crusade to not buy anything made in China. Food, clothes, toys, I don't care. They are not on my favored nation list. I didn't feed my cat cheap food, so didn't lose one, but I think of all the pets who died needlessly, painfully, while their owners couldn't do anything. It stinks.
Boycott China!

Because U.S. corporations would have to spend a little more money to have our food processed safely at home. Why let a little thing like public health stand in the way of the almighty dollar?
