When i ask myself if i believe in an afterlife, i think is a human mind something that is worth more than a few years of existance on earth? From a human's perspective you might say yes, but suppose that some cold calculating cloud of gas is in charge of the universe, then the answer may be no, and the worth of a human mind was expressed in allowing it to live for 80 years. I believe that this is not true. We can't be here just to show off what we are, like a pretty picture. We are meant to question the universe, and so there must be an answering session, such as an afterlife. Im not sure what happens there or if there even is a divine power in charge of it or how you would define the existance of such a being but I do believe that our minds continue after we die even if we lose our personalities.

"For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten." (Ecclesiastes 9:5)

"Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment." (John 5:28, 29)

I don't believe in an afterlife, but I do believe there will be a resurrection of the dead, just as the resurrections in the Bible points to.

I believe there is a type of force (spirit) in all of us. When a living thing dies, the spirit joins the universal force (heaven).

That's my personal thought. I am comfortable with all the other ideas people have.

Who really knows anyway?

Of course.

Jesus promised us a place in heaven if we believe that he came to the earth through the virgin Mary and died on the Cross for our sins. Simple as that.
