okay- this is going to sound weird but i have to ask.

I have an 8 yr old cousin and when my other cousin (who is 16 years old) was babysitting she asked him to play a game where they lay on the couch and who ever is ontop has to do what the other says- my 16 yr old cousin agreed to play and kissed her-
I wasnt there but when i heard about it i asked her where she got this game from and she said she made it up-
Im worried that someone had tried this "game" with her and she is only 8! and i dont even know what to think about the cousin of mine who is twice her age and went along with it!
At that age wouldnt he know that if an 8 yr old wants to play a "game" like that , that you shouldnt "play"???
What do you think?
Should he have known better or is he still young enough where he would still go along with that even if asked by a child?

The 16 year old should most definitely know better, there just aren't excuses for that. And while it could be the 8 year just saw something on TV, chances are good she got it from somewhere. And chances are good, it wasn't TV. I was sexually molested when I was growing up. Guess what my Barbie's did a lot of? Quite a few sexual acts. In fact, the friend I played with from around the corner came from a seemingly normal family, far more normal than mine was, and she sometimes in initiated the sex play with the barbies. It's normal for children to be curious about their bodies as well as each other's bodies. It's not normal for children to act out adult sexuality.

A 16 year old definitely should know that is wrong. Come on now, there are 16 yo out there having sex everyday, with kids their own age. As far as the 8 year old, she is probably just curious. That is normal for an 8 yo but someone should still have a sit down talk with her and let her know that game is very unappropriate.

I think your concerns are valid and I think the 16 yo may have been caught by surprise or curiousity. After all, the first time something like that happens, it takes time to adjust thinking. That is one of the reasons young people get in trouble - not having the experience to spot what might be coming up before it happens. One person might overhear or participate in peer conversations at 12 or 14 and know a lot more than another person who does not and is 16-18.

You should make sure she isn't being harrased by someone at home or school however sometimes young children want to do what they see the people in movies, tv and music videos doing and yes a 16 year old should know better.

well i dok you do have a right to be concerned i think u should first ask her where she got this game and your 16 yr old cousin who is a man should have told her that games like that should not be played with any one who is not thire mom you should definently look in to this matter

You're right to be worried. You need to talk to an adult about this -- preferably his Mom or Dad, unless you're worried one of them is the problem. This isn't a normal 8 year old game, though.

Best advice is to talk with the parents of both of your cousins (together, if possible) and tell them what you know.

I'm getting a lot of warning signs with what you said, and your silence in this matter could have dire consequences for those kids in th future.

Expose the 16 year old immediately before this escalates. Yes he should know better!

He was probably surprised. It's probably nothing.

But, tell the child's parents anyway.
