I was spanked but not bare bottom lol
The principle at my elementary wore his paddle out on my butt lmao

Yes,
Me and my brother were both spanked bare-butted with a belt, wooden spoon, open hand, stick, paint stiring stick, ect...
We were also disiplined by holding out our hand to be spanked with a belt, stick, hand, ...you get the point....
Sure then it felt like the end of the world and we had sore bums and hands alot...not always when we deserved it though.
I remember yelling and screaming at the top of my lungs "WHAT DID I DO WRONG DADDY???" and he would just say "You know what you did, don't do it again!" I think that part was wrong. You should ALWAYS tell your kids why you're disiplining them, sit down with them and talk about it, hug them and let them know that you still love them even if it hurts. My parents never did this.
I remember calling my moms wooden spoon and fly-swatter "mommy's weapoms" lol... My dad used to bring a paint stirring stick with us in the car incase my and my brother started fighting or we were bad, he used to put in in the visor underlining the phrases "The safest place for children is in the back seat, never place a rear-facing child in the front seat, could cause serious injury or death."
I only remember being slapped in the face twice. And I deserved those..I swore in church one time and the other time i invided a friend over even though both parents had said NO to it. We stopped being spanked when my brother got soanked and he laughed wich made my dad spank harder, until it broke, wich made my brothe laugh harder. He's 2 years older but when he stopped giving Trevor spanks he stopped giving them to me too.
I personnaly think a little spank on the hand or butt here and there to dicipline your kids isn't wrong as long as you hate doing it and you always explain to them what they did wrong. We never got time-out so I can't say if it would have been as affective or not. Remeber in all the old cartoons? When the kids were bad, they got spanked, now it's probly against the law to but that in a kids cartoon. instead we have all stupid cartoons with all educational stuff in it for our kids. need I say more than these 4 words: "BOOBAH AND TELETUBIES SUCK!!!
I think somebody should take those ridiculous excuses for a character and spank them silly!

There is a time and a place for everything.
Spanking is appropriate in some cases and not in others.
I don't hold a grudge against my parents for spanking me.
My dad never really did and my mom stopped when I started laughing out loud and telling her how ridiculous it was to be spanking me.
I have since stopped spanking my son, finding that by limited certain toys or television time is way more effective than physical punishment.

Not bare bottom and with a hand, it still hurt and I got the message. I can't think of time I didn't deserve it.
My Dad was a principal in the days of the strap and we were always told if we did something at school to deserve the strap we could also expect a spanking when we got home. We all did very well in school, ha, ha.

I was, but it was usually because I pushed my sister down the stairs, or chucked a rock at her head and laughed when blood ran down her face. Oh it sure stopped me from doing things for a while. My mom once tried grounding me for a week for a similar offense and I simply smiled when she told me because it was soo worth it, and coming off grounding I went right ahead and did it again just because I knew it would be the same punishment. Only come to find out, the punishment would be my dad coming home, my mom pitching a fit and a green leather belt on my butt. I was reasonably nice to my sister after that. Even though she tried very hard to get me in trouble. OMG that belt was nightmares of reminders i was not to hurt my sis.

Each parent chooses what they believe to be the best punishment. The laws today are trying to take away the parents rights. I think our culture is in serious trouble.
I was spanked as a child, only once bare bottomed, but I had it coming and I learned my lesson. It taught me the meaning of humilty.

I was. I don't think the spanking was necessarily wrong, but my father had a temper problem and spankings became beatings at the drop of a hat. Bruises and bleeding welts were the norm. That was wrong and caused me a lot of problems later in life.

I was spanked bare bottomed, or over my clothes. Over my clothes usually involved another instrument, such as a wooden spoon or sometimes a shoe.
There was the one time my mom cornered me in a motel bathroom, and I dodged one of her attempts to hit me - and hit the bathtub instead, breaking her finger.
Spanking can be a necessary form of punishment for some children - but not for the purpose of causing pain. I loud smack on a diaper can be as effective as a painful smack on the behind.

I was spanked bare butt and I turned out just fine. It wasn't abusived by any means, but it did pack a sting that always made me think twice about doing certain thing.

Not bare bottom, but I was spanked. Now when I remember the way I acted, I would spank myself too.
