i was let go due to my "work production", thay also said complains were made but could not tell me what they were so i know what i needed to fix. Also 2 weeks prior to letting me go they told me there was no work for me where i wanted to be, they said if i wanted to look for a job that was totally understandable. Well the next day the manager came to me asking if i made a decision and i said yeah i will look for a new job but i could not leave til i found a new job, since i do have a young child. Well they went on and hired a person who took over where i wanted to work but i didnt say anything because she had a higher degree than me. Well i was doing everthing asked and busting my butt to get the stuff done and 2 weeks after they told me they "didnt need me" they let me go. I got unemployment out of it but it was fight, they looked at it as i did everything i was suppose to but still got fired. So where do i go from here a diff office wants to interview me?????

Sure, a company can legally have a "do not rehire" list. Where you go from here is to look for a job somewhere else. Good luck.

Most Companies in the U.S. have on their "separation papers" the following:

Eligible for rehire YES NO (CHECK ONE)

Perfectly legal.

Yes. Most companies will have a do not rehire for one reason or another. You shouldn't have any problem getting hired at another company-just don't re-apply at the old company

Yes, it is legal to have a not eligible for rehire list, it is also legal for them to let another employer know that you are not eligible for rehire if they are asked. (When you sign an authorization form giving them permission to release truthful information about you)
