They said it was a move made for a bigger one/other moves.
With little starting pitching available via Free Agency I can't see that. Any Ideas Braves Fans

The main focus will be on Pitching, they need help in Starting and relieving. They will get Glavine more than likely, they will make a push for the best starter out there, rumors are swirling about Haren, Blanton and Oswalt. They are going to try and get Texiera locked up long term and then possibly go after Hunter or Cameron but Cameron is now out the first 25 games so that may make them think twice, although he would come cheaper. I think the SP is going to have to come through a trade...like you said the FA starting pitching is rather thin this year.

The Braves, more than likely, will go after CF Mike Cameron in free agency (even though he is banned for 25 games). He is a hometown guy and will be a stopgap until Brandon Jones (no relation to Andruw) is ready to play in the majors every day. Tom Glavine will be resigned since he is one of the few Brave pitchers that is dependable. Also look for them to target a #3 starting pitcher either through free agency (not too much available) or trade (most likely). Either way, the Braves will once again be in the playoff hunt next season.

Here is what I have heard about the Braves. Glavine will sign with the Braves if he decides to play next year, which I believe he will. There is also a good chance that the Braves could wind up with either Haren or Blanton from the A's. Andruw Jones will be gone and the Braves will make a good push to get Tori Hunter which would be a great fit in Atlanta. If they lose out on Hunter they will go after Mike Cameron who will be available. I believe if they can get most of this accomplished they will be a better team next year. Smoltz, Hudson, Glavine, Haren or Blanton would be downright nasty.

Starting pitching. We don't need Rowand or Hunter or Cameron to play CF.

For KBenson5, Cameron was not positive for 'roids, it was a banned stimulant other than 'roids. If it was steroids, his supsension would be for 50 games. I would rather have Rowand in CF next year, he is a go getter, will run through any wall to get a fly, and is younger than Cameron who strikes out too much.

Hunter will cost too much and Cameron just tested positive for "roids" (suspended 1st 25 games)....Coco Crisp maybe...Pitching is the main focus though!!

They need somewhat of a good starter besides Smoltzy... and a center fielder.
