We voted the Dems into office. Did we expect anything other than the usual tax and spend policies?

Because we have been spending and not taxing so now we owe a whole bunch of money.
GWB didn't see fit to veto one single spending bill the Republican congress sent to him in six years. Now you really think hes turned into a conservator of our nations wealth.
With ten billion a month going for his war?
Hes lying through his teeth and for the first time I actually saw him do it without a blink when he describes Schip as a poor childrens bill. NO Sir. It supposed to give the middle class a little ease when it comes to costs of health insurance. But if the middle class get something for its tax dollar that makes them socialists or communists. When we give tax breaks to the rich, thats good business. Why can't GWB stop spending my money without doing it on the backs of my kids and grandkids?

Our current problem is spending WITHOUT the taxing. Hence, the HUGE federal deficit. Bush spends on war and weapons and give tax cuts to his rich constituents.
The fact of the matter is (lost on most YA people) that we here in the US of A don't pay a high tax rate. If you lived in England, Germany, Japan, Canada or just about any other developed country, you would pay more of your income in taxes. Then of course you would be the beneficiary of:
1) Universal health care
2) Paid retirement
3) Fast and inexpensive mass transportation
4) Better air quality
5) Better water quality
6) Increased longevity
7) Lower infant mortality rate
8) More vacation
9) Clean and crime-free cities
You get what you pay for.

GWB is won't stop them because he orderd most of them, & if he didn't, it is because the congress is trying to pay for Bush's charge spending that has been happening for the past 6+ years.

thats what congress/government does. They figure out how to take and spend more of your money, while never forgetting to give themselves a pay raise...

That's the Liberal SOP hopefully we are able to stop them in 2008.
If you think Republicans are bad wait until Liberals get a veto majority, then your check will diminish to jack or near zero.
