80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

There is no "point". Don't waste your time on silly questions that can never be answered. Life is what you make of it - so just get out there with a carefree spirit and do your thing :)

Also another good way to look at it-
YOU create the point in YOUR life. The power is within you.

There is no point. It's a musical thing. An individual is better off to not go through life hoping to find "success" or "meaning" somewhere down the road, but rather, he or she should enjoy the entire ride as an though they were enjoying a good piece of music.

Meaning is a human value, and only humans can give things meaning. It does not exist independently in nature.

What that means is that your life, while having no meaning to the cosmos, _does_ have meaning to you and other humans. Your purpose in life is something that you have to either create or discover for yourself. Others can give you advice and suggestions, but ultimately it is your life to build a purpose for. So enjoy the freedom of self-determination that you have, and make the most of your life. You're here, so you may as well make the most of it!

There is no point. You've been created by random events in the progression of our dimension....

To find out why we are here and our purpose in life (ie. to oppose the government, torture our siblings..ect).

Really, I think it's up to you to see what's your point in living...
