No, they can't be the next Yankees. No one can hate the Red Sox like they can hate the Yankees. It's just impossible. :)

Sarah, to say Yankees suck no matter how many World Series they have one is pure jealousy, that's all. Hate them all you want, but Yankees, never have or never will suck. Probably the winningest franchise in baseball history or top 5 & above the Red Sox & it's their second in 4 years not 3 like someone else stated. Yankees always have a good team & have the current longest team winning streak in all of baseball, including the Red Sox. Current consectutive winning season streak, Yankees 13, Red Sox 10. I gave my congrats to the Sox for winning World Series but whoever says Yankees, or even Red Sox suck, doesn't know a thing about baseball.

No. The Yankees are still up 26-7. The Red Sox will be lucky to be the next Oakland A's.

They are better.
The Yankees are imploding in the front office and loaded down with old bats on the field. The Red Sox have young home grown players mixed in with superstars for the next 4-8 years. The farm system is the best in baseball and they have better financial discipline. The Yankees have come to the end of a nice run. It will take awhile to fix this mess.
It is a shame Joe Torre and Donny Baseball will not be there for the opening of the new stadium.

Possibly, they are out spending the Yankees these days so they could take over that spot as the evil empire but they have to keep winning. The people that say that the Yankees spent "all that money of A-Rod" they spent more on Jeter than they EVER spent on A-Rod, Texas spent the money on A-Rod! The Yankees will rebound and to me seem to be making some of the right moves, go away from Superstar baseball and back to what won the Championships, a team of guuys who contribute together, manufacture runs and pitch good, out with the older players and in with youth on the field and in the Managers box!

No, they won't because they're not arrogant a****** =)~ All joking aside, to be fair, they're both good teams. I obviously hate the Yankees, but to say they're a bad team would be untrue. I mean, there would be no rivalry if the Yankees and Sox weren't both good; it would be no contest. I may not like the Yankees, but I respect them. Fellow Sox fans may bash me for this, but I hope they continue to stay pretty close; the rivalry is part of the fun.

Are you kidding?
The Sox win two in the 21st century and now theyre the New Yankees?
They still have to win another 20 just to tie with the Yankees.
You Boston fans have high hopes.

I don't think it's possible to be that consistent in the new playoff structure. The Yankees will always be competitive so nobody will ever come close to winning more World Series than them. Just being realistic.
Hey Todd that pretty funny. I bet at least one Red Sox player pulls a Jonny Daman.

No, I don't.
The Red Sox, have won two world series but they have only won one division title in the past 15 years. They weren't even in the playoffs last year.
Lets see them get some staying power before we annoint them.
