My girl scout troop is putting on an Christmas party event for our council. I need to get donations, for food, craft supplies, paper plates. etc. How do I go about writing a letter to schnucks, Walmart, shop n save etc. so we can get the items donated?

I have heard through other volunteers the will donate a items either through store credit or gift cards. I am not sure your info. is correct.

Write a letter addressed to the manager, and say just what you said in your question: "My girl scout troup is putting on a Christmas party event for our council. We woud appreciate a donation of xxxxxxx. Thank you for your consideration."

wal-mart does not accept solicitations..you would do better to check with local churches and organizations like the vfw's and those type of groups. Most "chain" stores do not accept them either
