Given the fact that NY Governor Spitzer has abolished the requirement that a valid social security # be shown before a motor voter registration form be given while getting a drivers license. Although they must sign an affadavit saying they are a US citizen, NY admits that they do not verify the authenticity of that claim. Sounds like another way for Democrats to steal elections to me.

I don't know what the big fuss is over immigration. You should be happy that people want to come here to the US. The more people the better. After all look at what it has done to the quality of life so far! You get fresh produce, doesn't matter that it is tainted with **** from the fields, it is fresh and cheap. Otherwise it would be more expensive and free from feces.
How about our city streets. The are jammed with cars, so much that you can't find a parking space. The Richmond and Sunset districts are all now part of Chinatown! We should be happy that the Asians have the ability to have 4 or 5 families with 4 or 6 cars parked outside, using the housing, after all, if there was only one family to a house, they would take over all of the city!
Look at what the gangs do, they exhibit free spray can art all over the cities. So what if it takes city workers all the time to clean up, hey it's Art!
Now look at would happen if they didn't cram your ER rooms at your hospitals. Hell, I can remember that when you went to an ER you could go right in and be seen within minutes, Now they have made it nice so that you can sit in the waiting room for hours reflecting and meditating while they get free health care and medical treatment which you so graciously pay with your tax subsidies.
While we are on the subject of tax subsidies, I think you should not burden anyone by making them fill out the forms for welfare, we should just send a check out to anyone who wants one, working or not, for about 1000 dollars a month per child.
This would give an incentive to anyone to squeeze out 6 or 10 kids, so that they would be valuable workers here, doing jobs Americans don't want to do. They shouldn't have to go to work for it either. Thats not the American way!
They should also have a way to support Gangs, Gangs are important social organizations that keep the population under control, are a cheap distribution network for drugs, and are the number one supporters of the tattoo ink industry.
Without gangs, the tattoo parlor and ink businesses would suffer greatly!
Also , gangs are important for the underground gun industry. What the general public doesn't realize is that gang members are lucky that they don't have to wait for waiting periods or background checks to get their weapons, hell, just think of how good that is for the gun manufacturer's!
Another industry saved by the gangs!
well, I wish I could come up with more reasons to just let everyone in, maybe some of you readers can help. I hope that the immigrants that have lost their papers, while crossing the boarders increase as much as they want.

Illegal aliens in the United States use an estimated 10 million barrels of gas a year whether they have a DL or not. Many already have forged DLs and can get them without testing or registering. The Drivers License is the most used form of identification for legitimate activities and in Identity Theft. Giving them a license is strictly political, degrades what little security Americans have left, adds to our identity theft problem, encourages more illegal aliens, and threatens our society. Anytime a governor or a politician says this is good you can bet they have more than society’s interest in mind; they have something personal to gain from it! If this is such a great idea why has it not been done in the past but rather comes during campaigning when the politicians can gain favor from the aliens who may not be able to vote but can persuade others to vote; many illegals are here because the legals support them and it seems like New York supports them!

Today's take on the Philly debate in the media is pretty much focused on this one. She did not fare well at all under pressure.
We could review her voting records (5 out of some 39 she actually attended...) on illegal immigration. I expect it varies considerably from this answer. And includes a jab at Rudy.
HRC just can not help de-foot in mouth disease plaguing her campaign. Hill will defeat Hill with out the help of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.
This move by the NY Gov is dangerous. NO one wants to address real issues just band aid existing problems. She needs to pay back the State of New York some how. In my opinion it is blatantly obvious here she is turning a blind eye.
Politics as usual. Little Mrs. Clinton is doing here is making sense. She is no Bill, that's for sure. He could out slick this one in a heartbeat.

I live in NY, so I am in the center of the controversy. I believe the catch 22 is that if an illegal alien applies for a driver's license, the clerk issuing the license is required by law to turn them in.
I'm not sure what the Gov. is trying to accomplish, but it isn't going to work.
BTW, we have "no fault" insurance in NY. The car is insured, not the driver. If someone "borrows" your car, they are insured. You can't register the car without insurance.

None at all . If you are so retarded that you can not pass a drivers test you belong away from the world in the care of others anyhow .
Giving them licenses only encourages them to stay . .
People think you need a license to drive . How silly . Do you need one to walk and chew gum at the same time .
I was driving at 11 years old and I would have started before then except my body was not big enough to drive a car .
Go carts and mini bikes where my size before I was 11 .
A license is simply a tax you must pay to do what any kid can do with some practice .
They never test your reaction time or any physical skills when you get a drivers license .
How can you steer properly when you weight 300 pounds and you stomach is in the way of the wheel .
I think fat people should not be able to operate motor vehicles because they are unsafe in emergency situations unable to perform the maneuvers needed to avoid collisions .

The illegal alien drivers license indicates that the driver is NOT a citizen. It can't be used for voting.
Requirements for a NY drivers license:
If you do not have a NYS driver license or or a NYS learner permit that is now valid or that was valid in the last two years, you must show proof of identity that equals a value of six points, your proof of date of birth and your Social Security Card (see Note 1).

The SSA letter or form must have been issued no more than 30 days before the date of your application. I'm not a Hillary supporter, but I don't think she meant "give them licenses." I think she meant, give them an opportunity to "earn" a license. In other words, let them get the necessary training so they are safer drivers when they inevitably drive.
That said, the real issue is whether illegals are entitled to the Holy Grail of legitimate state-issued IDs.
And with that said, yes, there is a danger of voter-fraud. But to be fair, so few areas require ID, anyway, and that is a bigger problem.

It makes no sense at all. Let's drop the entire political issue of illegal vs legal citizens...traffic in NY is horrendous and there is no way we need to find way's to increase it on purpose!
