I have a dell xps 200 computer and when im downloading something and surfing the web it automatically shuts off and where i turn the computer on the light keeps flashing until i hold it down and then it turns off and i turn the computer back on and everything is fine until it happens again. please please help me out here. i just got this computer a year ago and spent over 1,500 for the damn thing.

take the case off of the computer and clean it out...it's probably running hot...and check the fans to see if they're running. If you don't know how to do that, take it to a computer store such as Staples, Circuit City, etc, etc., they don't charge much to do that....(computers can REALLY build up dust in a year).

This sounds like a classic problem of either the fan not working due to clogging OR the computer was jostled and the heat sink is no longer touching the processor. Easy to fix if you know how.
take the heat sink out and make sure it's sitting on the processor and make sure the fans are working and they're pathways are clear.
