Anytime I'm near a river the smell reminds me of the times I was learning to fish at my uncle's house on the Niagara River. There are very few other smells that bring back those kind of memories.

Certain weather conditions remind me more of my childhood than smells for some reason.
Like when it first starts to get crisp in Sept/Oct I can relate to a certain situation in childhood when I first had to wear a sweatshirt and exactly what I was doing.
Weird.

I have to admit that every time I get a cold and have a bunged up nose I am reminded of when I was a child and having a cold and being curled up in an armchair reading pilgrims progress.

Pizza cooking in the house...I make it now too (made 4 the other night!) and hopefully the kids will remember that yummy and homey smell too! :~)

yes, we had a bush that made tiny white flowers that smelled so sweet....but you had to be careful--the bees loved it!!!
