I am racking my brain trying to figure out the name of this type of candy. Maybe if I see it, it will trigger my memory. I am 30 something, I had it when I was a kid, so it has to be at least 20 years ago.

Chewy Sweetarts
Hard at first..get chewy when you suck on them. I would always have to wack the package against the kitchen cabinet to break it down.

Others would be

Jolly ranchers
Tootsie rolls

Below is a link of nostaligic candy from 20 or 30 years ago that they still sell. Maybe you can look thru and find which one it is. They have pictures attached so I am sure that will help.
Good luck!

Well I'm not 30 something but I loved jolly ranchers, jaw breakers, and those little a&w rootbeer candies.

need a little more info, but some that I had as a kid:

lemonheads
Jolly Ranchers (sticks & bits)
Atomic Fireballs (HOT!!!)
Red Hots (not sure how "hard" these were)
Also some kind of grape flavored things like the lemonheads
Maybe "Alexander Grape"?

Werther's Originals...those little butterscotch-y candies in the gold wrapper? My grandparents used to have them at their house ALL the time. They were so great...

Someone parked their van over a Twix bar once in my driveway. That was a REALLY hard candy to eat, but I did! :)
