Maybe get some pitching. Their offense is good enough let's look at the results of the best pitching teams the last couple years.
'07 Red Sox (2nd Team ERA, 1st in the AL) WS champs
'06 Tigers (1st Team ERA) AL Champs
'05 White Sox ( 3rd team ERA, 1st in AL) WS champs
'05 Astros (2nd team ERA, 2nd in NL) NL Champs
'04 Cardinals (1st team ERA) NL Champs
'02 Angels (5th Team ERA, 2nd in AL) WS champs
....See a pattern. Pitching wins. Go ahead and ask the Yankees how far stacking your offense gets you.

I'm not a Mets fan, but I don't see how he fits into their plans. Wright is too good of a defender to move to 1st; although Delgado does need to GO!!!!
However, I did read something that said the Mets might ship Reyes to the Twins for Santana. If so, that would open up a spot at SS. If I were the Mets, that's a deal that I would make.

The Mets won't get or even go for ARod. They have no nead for him. They have Reyes at short and Wright at third. They already have two of the biggest names in baseball at the 2 positions ARod plays. ARod doesn't play to the Mets need which is obviously pitching at this point.

The Mets are way down on the list in the A-Rod sweepstakes so I don't believe Mets fans have to worry about any positional moves.

The Mets are set at shortstop (Reyes) and at third (Wright). I just don't know who would be willing to pay him more than $30 million a year which the Yankees offered him.

"A-Rod's out there now"...oh yeah?! Well let him STAY out there! The Mets need to concentrate on improving their pitching staff FIRST. I believe they’d have better things to do than to stroke the ego of a player who’d rather get paid than play the damn game!

I don't care if he goes to the Mets. Just don't send him to the Red Sox.
