I am basically from an upper middle class family. I am average and wheatish guy. I am working in a reputed MNC with a huge pay packet. My father is a reputed government officer and my mom is a doc. Recently they have started looking out a bride for me. I would love to marry a beautiful girl but my parents are interested to get me engaged to a rich girl. Now after a satisfying search done....i have got two kinds of girls the average looking rich girl and the beautiful poor girl. whom should i decide? I am quite confused. Its an arranged marriage so i would love to get advice from you guyz too. trust me i will count on you too...And oh yeh! the beautiful rich havent made in to my list at all..call it fate!!

oh my GOD...yeh I forgot that yahoo is global. I am from india and in here love marriages are less than 3%. My culture strongly beleives in arranged marriages. i have seen that almost all of you had asked me to marry for love...well, I would love too...but its aint allowed here..And we were brought up like that...we beleive in love after marriage love before marriage here is a sin...I am sorry forgot the concept of globalisation dude...And I was unfortunate to experience the esscense of a love marriage...

I know there are still cultures that arrange marriages...which is fine if it's your culture and that's just what is done. Although it is true that ultimately you should marry for love, there is no reason you should count out the average looking rich girl. Remeber, beauty fades...and a beautiful girl with an ugly personality will eventually just be ugly all the way around...however...your "average" looking girl may have a beautiful personality and thus, becomes the beautiful girl you desire. It would be nice to get to know the girls first, but that's not always possible. I say....try the average looking girl...and don't even think about the rich or poor thing. It's what's inside a persons heart and soul that matters...not the size of the dowery chest. It's a tough decision. Why not come up with a question you can ask both girls....based on personality...have your family ask her and tell you what each girls answer is. Whatever answer you like better, go with that girl and don't ever question your families decision for you. Good luck.

you should marry the girl that makes you the happiest and the one you know you can be married to and still be committed to even when things don't always go right and when things get hard.
It shouldn't matter about the money or the looks. Marriage is so much more than that. It needs to be able to last, even when the money and the beauty aren't there.

I don't understand the "arranged marriages". It just seems so ancient!
How can true love be found in arranged? I suppose once being around a person all the time, love may grow, but I'm just not into arrangements!
The average rich one could grow on you and become very beautiful!

First of all, the only arranging of the marriage would be between me and the person I fell in love with. I would not be letting someone else decide who I would spend my life with. I would find someone whose values were in sync with mine. I would want someone with like faith, work ethic, honesty, devotion, kind, gentle, and trustworthy. Looks and wealth are so far down the list, I'd never get to them.

Sounds like your a bit arrogant urself to me. Ask urself this. R u looking 4 an arm charm to draw attention to urself with girl "A" ? Personally, I C the beauty inside, first, then the positives and how they would work as a "Soul mate" since marriage 4 me is only one time. As for the negatives, who doesn't have them its a compromise that only u can decide... Choose with a clear & sensible mind, the heart will follow. neither... the average rich girl may/may not lose her riches in time, no one knows what will happen right...and the beautiful poor girl may/may not lose her good looks in time...if you don't wish to marry for love, at least choose someone you like hanging out with, or someone you like being with. that, at least, may last longer than the riches and good looks.

You should be preferring beautiful poor girl, not only because she is beautiful, but since you are yourself from an affluent family, richness of girls family should not be any consideration if other situations are same.
